The Psychic Eye series written by Victoria Laurie is comprised of twelve fantasy novels. The collection of novels in the series revolves around the main protagonist Abby Cooper. Abby appears in the series along with three other major characters, including her boyfriend Dutch, her cat sister and her business partner Candice. The series ran from 2004 to 2014. Another novel in the series is due for release in early 2015. The series depicts Abby Cooper as a professional intuitive psychic. she has thought that everyone is better than managing her own life. she understands that she cannot evade chaos and murder, being a psychic herself. rather, she allows him to sense when she is going to arrive. abby gets a lot of help from her business partner and her best friend candice fuso. Candice is a badass intuitive psychic and always comes to the aid of Abby Cooper along with handsome Dutch Rivers, the love of Abby’s life. Together they help Abby catch the bad guys, often dodging various attacks. Abby is grateful to have friends so they come to her aid whenever she finds herself in trouble.

The first novel in the Psychic Eye series was published in 2004 by Signet Publishers, under the title ‘Abby Cooper: Psychic Eye’. In this novel, Abby Cooper is portrayed as a professional intuitive who is involved in the murder investigation of one of her clients. she lives in royal oak, a suburb of detroit and is in her thirties. her psychic nature makes the police department suspicious of her and increases her curiosity as to how she can know so much about a murder she is not responsible for. she realizes that intuitive nature often endangers her life. The novel also reveals the plot of the romantic relationship between Abby Cooper and Dutch Rivers, who meets her through a dating service. Dutch rivers also turns out to be the main investigation of the murder case. He begins to question Abby’s abilities as complications arise between the two and she is forced to stand up for her rather than be branded a fraud. she had been enjoying a pretty satisfying life before, like vanilla ice cream, being a psychic intuitive. After being questioned about the murder of her client, Abby is confronted with the bitter side of Ella’s powers. Though she has become depressed after her lover labeled her a fraud and thinking that she won’t be able to clear her name of her murder, the killer is pretty sure she could.
the sequel to the first novel was titled “better read than dead”. This novel was published in 2005 by the editorial signet. The novel’s plot shows that Abby Cooper’s skills are in high demand once again. but this time he not only tries to find the criminal, but also helps one without knowing it. Abby’s life falls apart during the fall in Detroit. he planned to settle down with fbi agent dutch rivers in his newly renovated house. But all of his plans take a different turn when he receives a phone call from a crime lord. When word of Abby’s intuitive abilities reaches the crime lord’s ears, he attempts to hire her to help him out in business. he doesn’t like to hear no for an answer. he also helps the police find a masked man who has been killing women. Abby is unaware of her period of work for both the criminal and the police. she doesn’t spend time with dutch as he is busy on another case. this leaves abby alone in this case and it is only later that she realizes the true nature of events. she wonders why she wasn’t able to see this coming? the series had a successful run as readers enjoyed reading the novels all over the world. Victoria Laurie was given the motivation to continue writing more novels and prolong her career as an established writer in the mystery and thriller genres.
