It can be difficult for children to understand what happens when two families come together. They may often be afraid of getting lost in the shuffle, or worry that there isn’t enough love to go around. They may also be angry at the entrance of new people and feel resentful at having to share their mom or dad with a new partner or children. These feelings are totally normal, and the books listed below can help children face their fears about this big transition.

This book was one of my top recommendations for parents when I was a preschool teacher and is great for children ages 3 and up.
