The following tuition charges and fees are current for the 2022-2023 academic year and are subject to change for future years. tuition and fee charges for the 2023-2024 academic year are published in early 2023.

Please note that the standard student budget includes actual amounts for tuition and fees, as well as estimated allocations for related educational expenses. tuition and health insurance fees are expenses billed directly to students, while all other categories are estimated allowances not to be exceeded. eligibility for financial assistance is determined using the following standard cost estimates.

tuition and fees

Tuition and fee costs are subject to change and are determined each year. Please note that future tuition costs, fees, and standard student budget amounts may differ from year to year. updated figures will be published on this website and in future editions of the finance your education guide, which is updated annually. You can find information about health insurance rates, coverage, and exemptions on the Harvard University Student Health Program website. online part-time ed.m. students will not be automatically enrolled in the comprehensive student health insurance program. billing information and payment dates can be found through harvard student accounts.

tuition policies and course credits for full-time students

students must register for a minimum of 12 credits per semester (excluding summer and May time periods).
students may register for a maximum of 20 credits per semester .
students must meet the minimum 32 credit requirement to earn their degree and may not exceed a total of 40 credits (please note: how people learn or other summer term credits do not count for maximum credits; for those completing how people learn/summer credits, your total credits cannot exceed 48).

tuition policies and course credits for part-time students

students must register for a minimum of 6 credits per semester (excluding summer and May time periods).
students may register for a maximum of 10 credits per semester .
students must meet the minimum 32-credit requirement to earn their degree.
credits for courses taken during May, June, or July do not count toward semester minimums fall or spring.
credits from the January term are counted as part of the spring semester.
students will complete the degree program in two years.

Note: Unless receiving financial aid, students admitted as part-time students or who changed to part-time status prior to June 3, 2020 are not subject to these minimum requirements and credit maximums and can take up to three years to complete the degree program. they will also have a tuition on how people learn, taken during June-July 2020, added to their fall bill.
