Hand stamped book stacks are probably my favorite craft of all time, and they’re perfect for all you farm lovers out there! Guys, I have a stack of books in almost every room in our house. It’s really getting a little out of control… but can you blame me? They are so cute! and the best part is that they are so cheap and easy to make, and you can make new ones for each season/holiday. it just doesn’t get any better than that!

supplies:
- pocket books that are the same size: the number of books you need depends on the words/quotes you want to include in them. I have made stacks ranging from 2-5 books. I get my dollar tree books for only $1!
- Stamps: I’ve listed a few different alphabet stamp options because my favorite stamps often sell out online. check the options below!
- click here to get the ones I used from michaels. these are my favorite stamps, and I have used them for many craft projects! if they’re out of stock online, you can search your area to find them at a store near you, and you can order online for same-day pickup at that store, so you’ll know they actually have them in stock! /li>
- click here another set of excellent alphabet stamps from michaels. this is a set of rubber stamps (not clear stamps like the ones I used in the video) and so you don’t need the acrylic blocks if you buy them. rubber stamps work great, and I’ve used them for stacks of books too! they are a bit bigger than the other stamps which gives them a really cool look and makes them easier to read. the only advice i have on using rubber block stamps is to clean the rubber area around the letter after pressing the stamp into the ink pad. otherwise, the ink will cover the entire area of the eraser and when you seal it, it will leave ink stains around the letters. I just use a makeup remover wipe to wipe excess ink off the rubber area before stamping the letters.
- click here for some cute alphabet clear stamps from amazon. these are very similar to my favorite michaels set, however they run a bit smaller.
- see the images at the bottom of the page for a size comparison of all 3 of these stamp sets!
here is the quick DIY video:
instructions:
- remove the book covers
- find the book you want on top (I always pick one with a good/appropriate top page)
- place your clear stamps on your acrylic block
- press the stamps (on the acrylic block) into the ink pad, making sure the stamps are completely covered in ink
- press inked stamps on books: if a letter doesn’t appear as well as you’d like, re-ink the stamp and try again. you can’t mess this up! if you reseal it and it’s a little “off”, don’t worry, add character!
- after you’ve sealed all the books, wrap twine around the stack of books and tie the twine in a tie

I love family stacks! They are perfect to place in your living room, and they also make a perfect gift. And don’t forget about those grandmothers and great-grandmothers who would probably love a stack of books with their grandchildren’s/great-grandchildren’s names on them.

The stacks of books on the left were made with the rubber stamp set, and the rest of the stacks of books were made with the clear stamp set by michaels.
