in 1955, margaret met clifton daniel, who was the assistant to the foreign news editor of the new york times. they were married in 1956, at independence. they had their wedding at the trinity protestant church, where their parents married in 1919. they had 4 children with the last one born in 1966. they lived with their family for years in manhattan, along park avenue. Her husband, Daniel Clifton, passed away in 2000, at the age of 87. Unfortunately, after 7 months, Margaret would lose her son, William, at the age of 41, in a traffic accident.
Margaret passed away on January 29, 2008, in Chicago, after succumbing to a brief illness. Margaret was 83 years old. she was survived by her 3 children and 5 grandchildren
