male author robert k. Tanenbaum was born in Brooklyn, New York in the United States. he was raised in the same locality. He earned a basketball scholarship to attend the University of California at Berkeley. robert earned a law degree from berkeley law at boalt hall law school. It is after his graduation that he returned to New York where he worked as an Assistant District Attorney under Historic New York County DA Frank Hogan. he was in charge of the legal staff training program at the attorney’s office. Tanenbaum later served as Deputy Senior Counsel Responsible for Congressional Investigations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and, President John F. the kennedy murders. In his legal career, Robert has never lost a felony case. When he returned to the West Coast, Tanenbaum began holding public office. He rose to the rank of Mayor of Beverly Hills twice and to the Beverly Hills City Council in 1986. Inspired by many fascinating stories and events in his time as an Ada in New York, Tanenbaum now began another career as a novelist.
Tanenbaum’s well-known work is the best-selling author of the top twenty-five New York Times legal thrillers. One of his best-selling novels, No Less Plea (1987), features an assistant district attorney, Butch Karp, fighting for justice, and his love interest and partner, Marlene Ciampi. His subsequent more than twenty novels portrayed Karp and his crime-fighting family alongside eclectic colleagues taking on corrupt politicians, the mob, drug lords, violent criminals, and international assassins. He has also written a bestselling novel called The Corruption of Blood (1994) based on his own experience in Washington, D.C.

The first book in the Butch Karp series, No Less Pleasure (1987), charts Karp’s (the main character) trials and tribulations in stopping a murderer who tries to escape punishment by manipulating the law. Roger “Butch” Karp, the Manhattan Assistant District Attorney, has a deep understanding of New York. Despite being here long enough and realizing that the judicial system can be cynical and dirty, Roger still believes deeply in justice. The second book, Depraved Indifference, in the Butch Karp series features a prosecutor, who is being hunted by Cold War terrorists. He previously finds himself entangled with the great trifecta of global plots: the Mafia, the CIA and the FBI. As usual, Butch Karp would never give up on a tough case; he goes so far as to prosecute high-profile killers. This is after Croatian terrorists kill an NYPD bomb squad officer in a plane bomb explosion. Karp’s assaults, however, risk his life when his investigations reveal some messy secrets in the government. However, certain people in the CIA and the FBI inhibit the success of the trial to the point of sabotaging Karp’s case. Roger Karp, the tough leading man from Brooklyn, tries to prosecute a gang of Croatian nationalists suspected of hijacking a plane and killing policemen with a booby trap. His mistress Marlene Ciampi struggles and finds information connecting terrorist leader Karavitch to Nazi war crimes. clumsily, during this war, karavitch participated in the massacre of an entire village in yugoslavia. the catholic archdiocese of n.y. Hire a professional cape to defend the assassins. Likewise, the police department wants cop killers to get away with it. CIA and FBI agents along with the Miami Crime Syndicate attempt to undermine the case of Karavitch and his gang. It is at this point that Karp realizes something is wrong.
His book Badge of the Assassin (1979), which featured on the prosecution of NYPD cop killers, was made into a movie titled Badge of the Assassin, starring James Woods and Robert Tanenbaum. The True Story of Psychotic Killer and Killer Badge depicts his trials and investigations of self-proclaimed members of the Black Liberation Army who carried out the murder of the two New York Police officers, Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones.
The New York native is married with three children. His current home is in Beverly Hills, California. here, he has lectured at boalt hall law school in the field of advanced criminal procedure.
