this is the first novel in the inn at the eagle hill series, in which fisher takes his readers into familiar territory; the quiet lives and gently rolling farmlands of the pennsylvania amish. this scenario frames rose shrock, who is a widow, ironically. rose nurses an exceptionally calm heart as she struggles to pay off the debts left behind by her husband, who suspiciously drowned. Rose’s neighbor, Galen King, supports her efforts to raise money by opening her house to other guests; Shrock’s mother-in-law who is very bitter. When Rose Schrock changes her Amish farmhouse from her to a bed and breakfast, her expectations are that there may be trouble. these include her mother-in-law’s bitter reaction to her and the church’s disapproval. She, however, does not expect that the guests of the Inn on Eagle Hill will also bring her problems into her heart and life. Neither does she expect the kind of support and help she gets from Galen King, a tough and quiet horse trainer who lives next door to her. rose discovers that love blooms in the least expected way. a first tenant of the new inn on eagle hill comes seeking shelter and comfort, and the rose provides it. However, Rose’s children also have their personal dramas that add depth and color to the entire plot. Through every challenge, the faith of the rose gives strength to the weak and also inspiration to those who doubt. Even though many of the conflicts ended very cleanly, readers will definitely appreciate this offering from the great Amish romance author.

Although she starts out reluctantly, Bethany Shrock begins to feel a bit of satisfaction and joy once again. but the joy is not that much or enough for jimmy fisher to woo her affections using her tricks and winks and tricks, maybe a little. a figure from bethany’s past re-enters her life and she has to make a decision. Suzanne shows what the past means for her future in this great novel. Bestselling author Suzanne Fisher delivers her-her surprises, twists, turns, and adds tender romance in the exciting and charming setting of a small, sleepy Stoney Ridge community. her characters keep their life simple or try to keep it through the difficulties they encounter. she also shows how the characters learn to adjust their ways of life while holding fast to their beliefs. the series is generally very entertaining and definitely worth checking out.
