toni morrison is an american editor, professor and author of racial studies, literature and fiction books. She is also a Professor Emeritus at Princeton University credited for her in-depth knowledge and teaching of African-American culture. seethe is born during the period of slavery, but escapes to ohio in search of breaking free from the chains of slavery and starting a new and free life. she, however, has not gotten over her memories of her days in slavery long after her escape. she has a new home but is still worried about the ghost of her son who died, and all she has of her is her tombstone with a beloved name engraved on it. seethe is trying to deal with a lot of dark and horrible memories that characterized not only her childhood life but also her adult life creating an unforgettable trauma. she wishes to get away from these memories, but she is stuck in them despite being free from this mess. Former slaves have thrown off the shackles of slavery, but still feel tied to a haunting and horrible past that makes progress nearly impossible. Although there are many racial prejudices that affect the characters, they still try to overcome this and create a new life for themselves and their future generations. pain is something that continues to permeate the characters of the sad experiences that is seen in how morrison honestly describes the events of the novel. it reflects the error after the former slaves got their freedom and they are trying to live a free life facing conflicting lives they were used to when working in their masters’ places.

toni brings the element of guilt and afterthought seen in violet and joe, where violet is trying to correct her shameful deed while joe is trying to repair their relationship. love, deception, guilt and hate are some themes that describe a society that is still trying to find an identity.

ruby is built as a haven away from the world with a focus on safety and creating a unique identity for its members. a group of citizens identifies this as a center of moral decay that can only be solved in a total dedication to eradicate the evil that has taken over the town. although the motive is good at first, it later turns out to be a group of evil and treacherous women. while trying to run from an evil, they find themselves trapped in the same thing and worse, hurting their own people.

Greed, lust for power, and intolerance of change make change almost impossible for the townspeople, which in turn creates a series of treasures and sad moments for the townspeople. the women find their solace in a pact outside the ruby ​​by being terrified by the fearsome ruby ​​men. power has converted those who previously thought themselves incorruptible, creating a conflict between those who want positive change and those who want to keep things intact.
