American author raised in the city of portsmouth, virginia, v.c. Andrews was born on June 6, 1923. Dying of breast cancer on December 19, 1986, she had a long and illustrious career throughout her 63 years. Now that the IRS officially declared her name an asset, her estate has gotten a ghostwriter in the form of Andrew Neiderman to carry on her legacy.
Starting out as an artist, she had a successful early career as a commercial artist, as well as a portrait painter. She suffered severe back problems and pain due to a fall down some stairs at her school, she subsequently developed arthritis later in her life. this meant that for much of her life she was in a wheelchair, in addition to having to use crutches for much of it.

his first novel, ‘flowers in the attic’, was published in 1979 after he was instructed to ‘spice it up’ when he first submitted it in 1975. although he initially wrote a book titled ‘gods of green mountain’ , this was to be published posthumously in 2004 as an e-book.

every year after the publication of his first novel, he would also publish another book with great success. following his own formula, v.c. Andrews has made a career of strictly regulating how his books are ordered and serialized. Focusing on the female leads, she would organize her work into a set of five books as they spanned the length of a series.
The initial three novels would be based on the main protagonist, while the fourth would focus on other members of the family or their children. with the fifth book there would be a prequel to the entire series in general. however, all this would soon change when its editors mentioned that it might need to be altered for the future, which its ghost writer did with the ‘orphans’ series and continued to do for all subsequent series.
all of this has helped her garner the critical acclaim and popularity she would enjoy throughout her life. Even with works published under her name and a total of over twenty book series, her legacy remains strong to this day. With global appeal, this brand shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon as it continues to grow day by day.

In addition to being the book that effectively launched v.c. Andrews literary career, he also had not just one, but two film adaptations produced around him. one in 1987 by director jeffrey bloom and another in 2014 for the channel of all life. With such a legacy surrounding him, it’s easy to see why Andrews became so popular as a writer. In this gothic romance, a group of four children struggle to survive as their mother locks them in the attic of their grandparents’ house.
Having been innocent and carefree to the point of great tragedy, they now spend their days in hiding as secrets, effectively hidden from the world at large. Faced with the prospect of having to spend an eternity up there while their mother remains distraught, they try to come to terms with their own impending fate. dealing with betrayal and heartbreak from a mother who effectively abandoned them, they begin to deal with their own conflicting emotions in a very real way.

As they try to confront their anger at their mother for what she has done, they look within themselves as they come together and cope as best they can. Will they ever discover the truth behind her fate and what made her mother act this way? Will they be able to get out of there or will they be destined to live in the attic forever? what will become of them if they remain ‘flowers in the attic’?

The first in the casteel series, this novel originally came out in 1985 and would mark the beginning of a five-part set of books. Observing the events of a West Virginia family, he charts the progress of the daughter named Sky as she overcomes the many hardships that have beset them all. Born to a young teenage mother who died during childbirth, now her hated father sells her along with her other siblings.
In the first of the series, readers meet the protagonist, the sky, who here turns out to be the kind and attractive daughter of an evil father. with a nasty stepmom too, both of them have worked hard, that is until the stepmom runs away. That leaves her in the hands of her malicious father, who decides to do something even more wicked than anything she’s come up with before.
Soon she does the unthinkable and sells herself to a partner thus forming a bond with her downtrodden and harassed husband. this leads to more torment as heaven is subject to more abuse from the wife. what follows is a harrowing sequence of events in which everyone has a part to play in the fate of her and her beloved siblings. Always hoping for the best, she tries to stay strong by fighting to retain her sense of self in the midst of all the turmoil.
Although this is considered a tragedy, it offers glimmers of hope as the sky remains a resilient protagonist in what is the beginning of an ongoing saga.
