wallace earle stegner is a published american novelist. he was also a short story writer, an American historian, and a passionate environmentalist.

stegner was born on february 18, 1909. he was born in lake mills in the state of iowa but grew up in different places, from montana to utah and eastend in saskatchewan. He had the honor of being nominated for and winning a Pulitzer Prize in 1972. Five years later, in 1977, the author would also be the recipient of a United States National Book Award.

45 years have passed since he returned to the city. she once lived there, but she ran away and had to get out of there. memories of her are bittersweet with a touch more bitter. Bruce has done quite well as he is now a diplomat and a statesman and is quite successful at what he does.

Even though he’s grown up, he knows his childhood was lonely and awkward. he hasn’t gotten over it totally still, even after all this time. it was hard for him growing up, and adolescence was just as hard. he is now someone who has earned respect in his field internationally. the contrast between the present and the past could not be more striking.
