charles martin married his wife christy in 1993, with whom he has three children; The family of five live together in Jacksonville, Florida. Charles has known and loved Christy for more than half her life. martin’s hobbies include working out (this includes different things like fight fit, which is a type of martial art and a mix of different old school things), bow hunting and tae kwon do. Martin also likes to fish with his kids, works in his garden with his wife, a t-ball coach, and prays with his kids in their beds before they go to sleep. in 2012, he got his black belt despite not being very flexible, and his sons are better at it. Martin believes, however, that he enjoys it much more than they do.
got a b.a. in English from Florida State University, and also has an M.A. in journalism, and a Ph.D. in communications she received from regent university. for a year, he was an adjunct professor at hampton university in the department of english and was a doctoral fellow at regent.

At the turn of the century, he left his business career to become a novelist. he has written nine novels and has written his autobiography which is a self-published e-book called “path of the river”. He has also written a non-fiction story on Bill Frist, Senate Majority Leader and heart transplant surgeon. The work on the story helped him research a novel he was writing at the time called “When Crickets Cry,” something he doesn’t think is a coincidence. Martin’s work has been cited by fellow writers Robert Whitlow and Frank Peretti as being inspirational. Martin’s work has been compared to William Faulkner, Leif Eiger, as well as Nicholas Sparks. it is considered faith-based fiction. he feels the same for his novels as for his children. he doesn’t have a favorite of any. As CS Lewis, Martin sees images of something passing before his eyes and returns to his stories. for a novel, he one day he was daydreaming and he saw a little girl in a yellow dress, and he saw something that he would write about later in the novel.

“The dead don’t dance” was published in 2004 and is the first novel by Charles Martin. Taking place in a sleepy rural South Carolina town, there is a baby due at the end of the summer. Dylan Styles, a college English professor, experiences a tragedy he didn’t expect, at a time when he was supposed to be celebrating and must face all that he has lost. he also has friends around him who help him through his problems.
Some readers were impressed with this book, feeling that the characters and writing were very realistic. fans of the book found it very real, the characters vivid and well developed. the novel features characters who have a wide spectrum of emotions. readers of the book have discovered that it is more of an experience than a story. Martin makes readers feel like they’re in South Carolina. fans of the novel liked that the writer’s main message for the book was to move on despite being struck by tragedy. they even liked the way this novel isn’t like most faith-based novels, but instead has real people who have flaws as well.
some of the readers of this book did not like it. they discovered that the characters were variations on the stereotype of the prostitute with a heart of gold. they found the way the narrator talks about who the characters are as an inability of the author to characterize. some found the writing terrible, lacking organization, lack of continuity, and simplistic. some similes were found to be forced. some even found the book boring and endless.

“wrapped in rain” was released in 2005 and is martin’s second novel. Tucker deals with tragedy and pain. he is a photographer, of international fame; he has been around the world and has seen it all. in his photographs he captures things that other people don’t see. he was raised on a large estate in the south with his mutt’s brother, by his housekeeper miss ella rain. he loved the pair of orphaned children as if they were his own. the only good thing her father did for her was to hire her to take care of the children and the property. When his brother escapes from the mental hospital and one of his old girlfriends (named Katie) approaches him with a black eye and his son (Jase), Tucker must return home and face his past. she has grown up and is now married to an abusive husband. even though she has been gone for many years, he still remembers the lessons she taught him all those years ago. through her, he realizes that he can continue to hate her father for everything he did to them, or turn to the more difficult path of forgiveness and love.
Fans of the book liked the way it was written; saying that it was beautifully written. they also liked the way it shows how humans can be good and bad. Martin’s use of the southern backdrop has a cinematic quality and presents strong, real characters. some fans like the way the author was able to integrate faith themes into the novel; as well as a moving plot that gives the reader a powerful story that stays with them long after the end of the novel.
some of the readers didn’t like this book and couldn’t read it. they couldn’t connect with anyone except the nanny character; they didn’t care what happened to any of the characters in the book. some felt that the story takes too long to start, and some people just couldn’t stand the wait. to the point that they actually skipped entire chapters of the book. readers also felt that as the book progressed, the book became more and more preachy and religious.
